BOARD & DINNER MEETING MINUTES – 1 September 2011

 

 

Assistant Director Jeremy Wilson called the meeting to order at 7:20 pm as Director Rodger Eddy was out of town. 

 

Secretary’s Report:

Ø  A motion was made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the minutes and to approve them as they appear on the CCCA website.

 

Treasurer’s Report:

Ø  Herb Shaw reported that the club currently has a balance of $9,316.86 in the treasury. 

 

Newsletter Editor’s Report: 

Ø  Bob Earls said that the Hood Release is out and members should receive their copies within the next day or two.

 

Membership:

Ø  Bob Earls reported that there are no new members at this time.

 

Sunshine Report:

Ø  Evelyn Freedman said she knew of no one who was ill.

 

Social Activities:

Ø  Mona Marsh reported on upcoming activities:

o   Halloween Party & Pot Luck at the Freedman’s garage on Saturday, October 22, 2010, at 4:00 pm.

§  More details at October Dinner Meeting.

o   Annual Membership Dinner – Sunday, November 16, 2011, at the Riverside Country Club.

§  Ideas that were suggested for a program that evening

·         George and Susie Choban on restoring their cars

·         David Charvet and an evening of magic

·         Dale Matthews to talk about his car business

·         Susie Choban on her WW II experience

·         Keith Martin to talk about pricing of cars, etc. and the Sportscar Market magazine

 

Tour / Events Report:

Ø  Tour Director Robert Douglas talked about two upcoming tours:

o    Olympic National Park Tour, 18 – 22 September, 2011

§  Tour will meet at 9:00 am in the west parking lot of the old Montgomery Ward Building

§  The tour will be going to La Push and Lake Crescent and driving a total of less than 700 miles.

§  More information will be coming out soon to tour participants

§  Bhagwan Mayer has arranged for tour participants to see an auto and sundry collection in Forks, WA

o   2012 National Caravan – September 7 – 16, 2012

§  The first ad for the tour appears in the August 2011 issue of the national CCCA Bulletin

§  A deposit to reserve a place in the tour is required and so far two people have already signed up.

§  A website promoting the Tour can soon be found online at www.anoregonadventure.com 

·         Participants will be able to make reservations and pay for lodging using this site.

§  Everything that needed to be done to date has been done.  Another planning meeting will be held in February or March to do whatever else needs to be accomplished at that time.

 

Important Reminders:

Ø  The Annual 2012 OR Region CCCA Planning Meeting will be held on November 11, 2011, at 7:30 pm, at Jan and Rodger Eddy’s home

Ø  The 2012 Columbia River Concours will be held on August 5, 2012, and there will be many changes to the event

 

Old/New Business:

Ø  The OR Region CCCA received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Columbia River Concours for our contribution in sponsoring a class award

 

Other Items of Interest:

Ø  Quentin Robbins has a 1934 Cadillac for sale

o   The car has 42,000 miles on it

o   He will sell it for $35,000 to anyone interested

o   He hasn’t advertised it yet

Ø  David Charvet has car related items up for sale

o   Items will be listed on eBay on Saturday or Sunday

Ø  Jeremy Wilson has information on a company in Vancouver, WA, called I-5 Driveline Repair that he used for repairs to his driveshaft (to remove vibrations) 

o   Contact him for more information

 

As there was no additional business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 7:55 pm.
