BOARD MEETING MINUTES – 6 September 2008

Board Members present: Robert & Frankie Douglas, Herb & Bobby Shaw, and Bob Earls.

Guests present: Lisa Nowak, Gene & Lois Bradshaw, June Fezler, Ray Dunsford, Mona Marsh and Sherman Williams, for a short time.

Director Robert Douglas called the meeting to order at 5:50 p.m.

Secretary’s Report: Bobby Shaw read the minutes of the 6 August meeting. The minutes were accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report:

Ø Herb Shaw reported that the club has a balance of $14,051.24 in our checking account of which $9,812.50 is set aside for the CCCA Fall Tour leaving a net balance of $4,238.74

Newsletter Editor’s Report:

Ø Frankie Douglas reported that she is working on the current issue of the Hood Release. The deadline for articles is Friday, 26 September so it can be mailed at the beginning of October.

Membership Report:

Ø Bob Earls stated that he would start sending out renewals as soon as he makes up a new renewal form.

Ø A question was raised about raising the dues to $35.00 for a member and keeping the cost for the Associate member at $5.00.

o After discussing the matter a motion was made and seconded to approve the change in the cost of member dues.

Ø Another question asked was if we should provide something for our Associate members?

o We discussed what we might do but reached no conclusion at this time.

NWCCA:

Ø Bob Earls updated us on the NWCCA Show & Swap Meet

o The date has been changed to 9,10, 11, 12 October as there was a problem with the original dates.

o Insofar as the possible dissolving of the NWCCA – we don’t have to participate in the show, just be a member in good standing for 2 years to share in the division of treasury funds.

o Regarding the date change, some members might not be able to stand their assigned times but others plan to still be there.

Social Activities:

Ø Jan and Roger Eddy were not at meeting to report.

o Robert Douglas indicated that the Fall Tour packet was sent out and informed us about a change in meeting place – Tigard Fred Meyer Store.

Upcoming Board Meetings

Ø 2 October – Mona Marsh’s home in Milwaukee

Ø There is no Board Meeting in November but the Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, 2 November, at the Riverview Country Club – 5:30 p.m. Social Hour & 6:30 p.m. Dinner

Old Business:

Ø There was an expressed concern as to whether or not our bylaws reflect the national bylaws.

o When Howard returns from his meeting, he will be bringing back information on the bylaws.

Ø It was suggested that a file be set aside to contain the official papers of the CCCA. This file should include the incorporation papers of the OR Region CCCA

o The incorporation papers might have to be recreated, as no one at the meeting knew where those papers were.

§ Roger Eddy may have the names of people who might have copies of those papers.

Ø Policy changes were postponed until next month because at this time we are awaiting additional information.

New Business:

Ø No new business

As there was no additional business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.

At this time the Oregon Region CCCA would like to thank Bob Earls and Lisa Nowak for hosting our meeting/ barbecue/potluck at their home as well as arranging for the evening’s great weather.
