ANNUAL BANQUET and MEMBERSHIP MEETING 25 OCTOBER 2015
OREGON REGION CLASSIC CAR CLUB OF AMERICA
Members and
Guests present:
There were (46) members and guests at this annual gala
event. After a fun social hour and a very nice dinner,
Director John Mitchell called the meeting to order at
7:40 pm.
John introduced
“Yesterdays Country” who provided our entertainment for
the evening. Many of our members were totally surprised
to learn that Yesterdays Country was none other than
Dale Mathews (Memory Lane Motors), his wife Karen and
their close friend Mario. Dale played the guitar, Karen
was the vocalist and Mario was on the keyboard. They
proceeded to play some of the best toe tapping country
music this country boy has heard for years. Who would
have guessed? Two of the numbers they played were
actually written by Dale himself. Georgia Mitchell
outdid herself by selecting Yesterdays Country as her
last official duty as our 2015 activities director.
John led a hearty applause for Yesterdays Country’s
performance.
As outgoing
2014-2015 regional director John Mitchell recognized and
gave thanks to the many members who have made those
years a success:

Roy & Beverly
Asbahr for opening their home and car collection to
our group thru the year.

The Board of
Directors: Bill Jabs, Larry Cox, Howard Freedman,
Georgia Mitchell, Bob Earls, Chris Cataldo, George
Potter, Larry Schick and Pat Cox.

Our tour
group: Bob Douglas, Rodger Eddy, Howard Freedman and
George Potter.

All of the
many members who pitched in to make our first Grand
Classic a success.
John reminded us
that we had lost three of our longtime members during
the year: Jeanette McCready, Steve Sauer and Ron Trefry.
John’s last
official duty was to introduce our incoming 2016
regional director heir apparent, Bill Jabs.
(Bill will not
officially be the director until after voting has been
completed on November 1st)
Bill commented
that we needed a Publications Editor and Assistant
Director to round out our 2016 slate of officers.
He reviewed the
core activities that are scheduled for 2016 and said
that other activities would be added to fill out the
2016 activities calendar.
Bill said that
2016 Board of Managers ballots have been sent out and
requested that members vote.
Bill thanked Dale
and Karen Mathews and Mario for the evening’s wonderful
entertainment and adjourned the meeting at 9:30 pm.
